Day 1: Casablanca > Rabat [87 Km]
This Morocco 7 day itinerary begins with your pick-up from the airport, accommodation, or port in Casablanca. Our first stop will be the Hassan II Mosque, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. This mosque is one of the largest in the world, featuring a towering minaret, unique architectural design, intricate decorations, and marble-adorned floors. We will explore this magnificent mosque together.
Afterwards, we will visit the Corniche and Mohammed V Square, surrounded by historic buildings in the French colonial style. Then, we will depart Casablanca heading to Morocco’s capital, Rabat, where we will visit the Hassan Tower, a 12th-century minaret, and the Oudaya Kasbah, an ancient fortress overlooking the Bou Regreg River. After touring the city, we will take you to your accommodation in Rabat where you can rest and prepare for the next day.
Day 2: Rabat > Chefchaouen [250 Km]
After breakfast in Rabat, we head north toward Chefchaouen, the Blue City nestled in the Rif Mountains.
Chefchaouen is well known for its blue-painted walls and charming narrow streets, making it a perfect place for walking and photography. Once we arrive, we will check you in, and then you’ll have free time to explore the winding alleys and take some of your best photos.
Before sunset, we’ll head to a unique panoramic viewpoint overlooking the city to enjoy the breathtaking view. Afterward, we return to the riad / hotel for the night.
Day 3: Chefchaouen > The Roman ruins of Volubilis > Meknes > Fes [257 Km]
After having breakfast in Chefchaouen, we leave the Blue City and head towards Fez, one of Morocco’s most famous imperial cities.
On the way, our first stop will be at the ancient Roman site of Volubilis, the best-preserved Roman ruins in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will have the chance to explore its impressive ruins, old mosaics, and traces of Roman life.
Next, we continue to the city of Meknes, a less crowded imperial city rich in history. We will visit Bab Mansour, a gate decorated with beautiful colorful designs, then the Sahrij Swani basin, built by Moulay Ismail to store water for the palaces and gardens. We will also visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, one of the city’s most important religious and tourist landmarks.
After this tour, we head to Fez for a comfortable night stay in a riad.
Day 4: Fes guided tour sightseeing tour
After breakfast at the riad, you will begin your tour to discover Fes, the oldest imperial city in Morocco, accompanied by a local guide. In the morning, we will set off on a walking tour inside the old medina (Fes el-Bali), visiting the most prominent cultural and historical sites, such as the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University, founded in 859 AD and considered the oldest university in the world, the Bou Inania Madrasa famous for its beautiful decorations, as well as the Nejjarine Fountain and the traditional tanneries that have made Fes renowned for its centuries-old leather craftsmanship.
Following lunch, we will leave the old city to visit the magnificent gate of the Royal Palace, then stroll through the Mellah, the old Jewish quarter, before visiting a pottery cooperative to explore the art of traditional Moroccan crafts.
At the end of the day, we will climb one of the old forts to enjoy a magical panoramic view of the entire city of Fes. After the tour, we return to the same riad for overnight stay.
Day 5: Fes > Ifrane > Cedar Forest > Ziz Valley > Merzouga Desert > Camel trekking [462 Km]
On the fifth day of our 7 days in Morocco itinerary, we start our morning early by leaving Fes and heading southeast toward the Merzouga desert. Along the way, we pass through the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop in the city of Ifrane, known for its cleanliness and European-style atmosphere. Then, we continue the journey to the cedar forests near Azrou, where we can see and enjoy watching the wild Barbary macaque monkeys.
We stop in the town of Midelt for lunch, then continue driving until we reach the Ziz Valley, which stretches between the mountains and offers breathtaking views of the palm groves.
As the day comes to an end, we reach the Merzouga desert. Upon arrival, you’ll ride camels to the desert camp nestled among the sand dunes, where you can enjoy the sunset. The evening continues with a traditional dinner under the starry sky, warm music around the campfire, and a peaceful atmosphere far from the noise of everyday life.
Day 6: Merzouga Desert > Rissani > Tinghir > Todgha Gorge > Boumalne Dades > Skoura [323 Km]
On the sixth day of the tour, we start our morning with the sunrise over the Merzouga dunes, then have breakfast at the camp. After that, we return by camels to the meeting point and head by car toward Skoura.
We first stop in the town of Rissani, known for its traditional markets and its history as a former capital of the Alaouite dynasty that currently rules Morocco. We pass through the villages of Tafilalt before reaching Tinghir, where we visit the famous Todgha Gorge, known for its high rocky cliffs and ideal for walking and photography.
After a lunch break in Tinghir or its surroundings, we continue the journey to Boumalne Dades, passing through traditional Amazigh villages, then see unique rock formations known as the “Monkey Fingers.”
We continue through Kalaat M’Gouna, famous for its Rose Festival, until we reach the oasis of Skoura, known as the Oasis of a Thousand Kasbahs.
In Skoura, we visit Amridil Kasbah, one of the most beautiful traditional mud-brick kasbahs, and stroll among the palm trees and peaceful scenery. There, we see Kasbah Taourirt, an old earthen fortress that was once the residence of the city’s governor, distinguished by its wonderful traditional architectural design. After that, we visit the famous Ouarzazate studios, which were used to film famous international movies like Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator.
Then, we move to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a fortified clay village located on a hill, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This kasbah reflects the traditional lifestyle of the ancient caravans that passed through this area. Afterward, we cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, a high mountain road passing through the Atlas peaks, known for its stunning natural views and the Berber villages spread on the mountain slopes.
