Discover what makes the 7 day Morocco tour special, day by day.

Day 1: Marrakech > High Atlas Mountains > Ait Ben Haddou > Dades Valley [330 Km]

Our Morocco 7 day tour from Marrakech begins early in the morning, heading through the High Atlas Mountains and the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest mountain pass in Morocco at an altitude of over 2,200 meters. Along the way, we pass stunning landscapes and traditional Amazigh villages scattered along the mountain slopes.

We stop at the village of Aït Ben Haddou, a historic clay kasbah classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a famous filming location for international productions like Game of Thrones.

We continue the trip to Ouarzazate, the Moroccan city of cinema, to visit Atlas Studios, one of the most renowned film studios in Africa, and the historic Taourirt Kasbah, which dates back to the 17th century.

We then head toward the Skoura Oasis to visit Amridil Kasbah, known for its unique architecture. After that, we travel to Kelaat M’Gouna, a town famous for producing roses. There, we visit a local women’s cooperative that explains how natural products are extracted from these roses using simple, traditional methods. (This area also hosts an annual festival celebrating its beautiful roses)

Before arriving at the riad, we pass through unique rock formations in the Dades Valley sculpted by nature over time, known as the Monkey Fingers, a perfect stop for photography.

We arrive in the evening at the riad, where you’ll enjoy a peaceful night surrounded by greenery and nature.

We leave Dades Valley after breakfast heading towards the Merzouga desert, continuing our journey until we reach Tinghir, where we stop to explore the Todgha Gorge. These are towering rock canyons rising more than 300 meters, with clear river waters running through them, making it a perfect spot for a short walk and taking photos among the giant walls.

After that, we continue on until we reach a Berber shop where visitors can try on the traditional Amazigh clothing the area is famous for and take beautiful photos wearing it. (This is an optional experience only.)

Then we take a break to enjoy a delicious lunch in the Touroug area, before continuing our way until we arrive at the desert.

In Merzouga, the real desert adventure begins. We ride camels and head across the sand dunes until we reach a high dune to stop and enjoy the magical sunset view. Then we continue crossing the dunes until we reach the desert camp, where we spend the evening in a charming atmosphere that includes a traditional Moroccan dinner, a music session around the fire, and gazing at the star-filled sky in the peaceful desert.

We start the day early to watch the sunrise from the top of the sand dunes, then enjoy breakfast at the camp. After that, we return to Merzouga, either by camel or by 4×4 vehicle, where we meet the driver to start the exploration tour.

The tour begins by driving through off-road paths until we reach a nomadic Berber family who live in a traditional tent made of simple fabrics and camel wool. With them, we will learn about their way of life and how they adapt to the desert climate. After bidding them farewell, we head to one of the old mines in the M’fis area. These mines date back to the colonial era and were used to extract minerals and the kohl used by women for decoration.

Next, we head to the village of Khamlia, inhabited by people of African origin. There, we listen to live Gnawa music, a blend of traditional African rhythms and spiritual melodies that form part of the local cultural heritage.

After the visit, we have free time to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Then we visit a small palm grove where we can stroll through its tree-lined paths. At the end of the tour, we drive to a seasonal lake near Merzouga, where flamingos and other birds come during certain times of the year.

In the evening, we head to the riad for a peaceful overnight stay.

We begin the day after having breakfast in Merzouga, then we say goodbye to it and set off on a long journey toward the city of Fes, passing through several villages and different regions. Our first stop will be in the city of Rissani, known for its traditional markets, especially its large market held three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday), which is considered one of the most important markets in the southeast.

We continue the road through the city of Erfoud, famous for its dates and fossil stone factories, then we cross the Ziz Valley, where we can stop to take pictures of the beautiful natural scenery that includes palm trees and surrounding mountains.

We carry on through the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop in the city of Midelt for lunch. After that, we continue driving through the cedar forests, and we may come across some macaque monkeys in the Azrou area. Then we pass through the city of Ifrane, known for its cleanliness, tranquility, and European-style architecture.

In the evening, we arrive in the city of Fes, where we check in at the riad, followed by free time to rest and have dinner after a long day of travel.

We begin our day after having breakfast at the riad, where we meet the local guide to explore the city of Fes, the oldest imperial city in Morocco. Our first stop will be at Bab Boujloud, the famous gate that leads us into the heart of Fes El Bali. From there, we start our walking tour through the narrow alleys that tell stories from the Middle Ages.

We visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, which reflects the beauty of Moroccan architecture, then head to Souk Al-Attarine, passing by Al Quaraouiyine Mosque, the oldest university in the world, and Chouara Tannery to witness traditional leather-making techniques. After that, we stop at the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss II, the founder of the city, before taking a break for lunch inside the old medina.

In the afternoon, we continue our tour by visiting the coppersmiths’ quarter and pottery workshops, then take a car to New Fes to discover the Royal Palace and the Jewish Quarter (Mellah). We conclude our day at Borj Sud, where we pause to admire a panoramic view of the old city.

In the evening, we return to the riad for a peaceful overnight stay.

We begin the day after having breakfast and leave the city of Fes toward Meknes, one of Morocco’s famous imperial cities. Upon arrival, we take a short tour to discover its main landmarks, such as Bab Mansour, one of the most beautiful historical gates in Morocco, and the nearby El Hedim Square. We also visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the sultan who made Meknes the capital of the kingdom in the 17th century.

After that, we continue our trip to the archaeological site of Volubilis, where we explore the ruins of an ancient Roman city that dates back more than two thousand years, walking among columns, mosaics, and the remains of buildings that tell a unique historical story.

After the visit, we drive through the beautiful natural landscapes of northern Morocco until we reach Chefchaouen, the blue gem in the Rif Mountains. Upon arrival, we check in at the riad and have free time to relax or wander through the charming blue alleys before dinner.

We begin the last day of the 7 Days Morocco Tour with breakfast at the riad, then we can take some time to freely stroll through the blue alleys of Chefchaouen and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this unique city. After that, we head toward the city of Tangier, where we drop you off at the airport, port, or your accommodation, depending on your travel plans. And just like that, we conclude our journey: 7 days in Morocco from Marrakech.
