Along the way, you can stop to rest and enjoy the stunning landscapes of the Moroccan countryside, passing traditional villages and farms scattered along the route.

You can explore the traditional markets, observe local handicrafts, and notice the distinctive architectural details. After the tour, you can head to your hotel or riad to rest and prepare for the rest of your trip.

[Approximate distance: 350 Km/ 5-6 hours driving]

Wake up in Chefchaouen to start your day enjoying the calm atmosphere and the city’s charming blue colors. After breakfast, the journey continues to Fes, one of Morocco’s oldest and most important cities, known for its rich cultural heritage, historic walls, and ancient medinas that reflect the country’s authentic civilization.

Upon arrival, you’ll start a tour with a local guide to explore the old city (medina), one of the largest preserved medieval cities in the world. Wander through its narrow streets and traditional markets filled with local products like leather, pottery, and brassware. You will also visit historic kasbahs, such as Bab Boujloud or the Moulay Idriss Kasbah, where you can imagine how these forts once protected the city from invaders and admire their towers and massive walls, feeling the depth of Moroccan history. Additionally, you’ll see traditional handicrafts that have been practiced for centuries.

After the tour, you can head to your hotel or riad to rest and prepare for the third day of your Moroccan adventure.

[Approximate distance: 200 Km/ 4 hours driving]

After breakfast in Fes, the long journey to the desert begins, passing first through Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its tidy streets, European-style architecture, and cold winter atmosphere. After enjoying Ifrane for a while, the journey continues to the famous Cedar Forest, home to Barbary macaque monkeys, which you can observe up close in their natural environment.

Next, the trip continues through Midelt, a city known for its apple orchards and mountain fruits, and before reaching Merzouga, we pass through Ziz Valley, famous for its dense palm trees and stunning landscapes that line the valley along the way.

Finally, we arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, we ride camels into the sand dunes, stopping in the middle of the desert to watch the breathtaking sunset, a calm experience to enjoy the desert scenery.

At the desert camp, you are welcomed with tea and sweets. After a short rest, you enjoy a traditional dinner. Later, everyone gathers around the campfire to listen to traditional Amazigh (Berber) music and learn about Berber culture under a star-filled sky. It’s an experience that stays with you forever.

[Approximate distance: 455 km / 8–9 hours driving]

On this day, you’ll wake up early to witness the sunrise over the golden dunes of Merzouga—a breathtaking scene that paints the sky in shades of orange and gold. Afterward, enjoy breakfast at the camp before riding camels back to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting to bid farewell to the desert.

The journey continues toward Rissani, a historic town that once served as a major hub for Saharan trade and remains famous for its traditional markets (held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays). Next, you’ll pass through Erfoud, well known for its date production and rare fossils extracted from the desert.

The road then leads to Tinghir, a small town surrounded by lush palm groves, from where you’ll head to the Todgha Gorge. This natural wonder is renowned for its towering cliffs and dramatic canyon, with rock walls that rise over 300 meters high.

By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Boumalne Dades, where you can marvel at the stunning rock formations known as the “Monkey Fingers” and admire the changing colors of the landscape as the sun sets. After a short tour of the area, settle into a cozy local riad for a peaceful night in the heart of the Dades Valley.

Unforgettable Journey: 5 Days Morocco Itinerary
I want to share my experience traveling with my family in Morocco. It was unforgettable from the moment we met our driver, Hassan, at Casablanca Airport. We started our tour by visiting the Hassan II Mosque, and honestly, its magnificent marble architecture amazed us. Then we headed to Chefchaouen, the enchanting Blue City, wandering through its colorful narrow streets before climbing a hill to see the whole city at sunset, truly a magical view. Next, we continued to Fes, the ancient city full of history, where we enjoyed exploring its old markets and winding streets. After that, we traveled toward the desert, passing stunning natural landscapes until we reached Merzouga, where we spent a peaceful night in the camp under a star-filled sky, far from the city noise. The following day, we visited Boumalne Dades and spent another night surrounded by nature and breathtaking mountains, before concluding our journey in Marrakech, enjoying its vibrant markets and lively atmosphere. On the last day, our driver took us to the airport, leaving us with wonderful memories that will stay with us forever. I can’t thank Hassan enough for his care and professionalism, and a big thank you to Exploring Morocco Trips for organizing such an amazing tour. I highly recommend this experience to anyone planning to visit Morocco.

Unforgettable Moroccan Adventure and Heartwarming Hospitality
The five days we spent in Morocco were truly amazing, and I highly recommend this experience to anyone planning to visit the country. We truly enjoyed every moment of the itinerary provided by Youssef. We met our driver, Said, at the airport, and he was friendly and kind from the very start. During the trip, we visited Hassan II Mosque, the blue city of Chefchaouen, historic Fes, the Merzouga desert, the Dades Valley, and ended our journey in Marrakech. What impressed me the most was an unforgettable moment during the tour, which showed me the generosity and helpfulness of the Moroccan people. (In the desert, my phone fell while riding a camel on the way to the camp, and when I arrived, I couldn’t find it. However, all the staff at the camp and others present immediately helped me search for it, even though it wasn’t theirs, and they all promised to help until I found it). This truly made me appreciate the spirit of Moroccans, always willing to help anyone in need. I want to say thank you to all the Moroccans, to everyone who helped me, to Said, and to Exploring Morocco Trips. I will definitely return to Morocco one day to repeat this tour, but for a longer duration. Thank you again.
